I was a long distance runner in High School and College and accustomed to pushing my body to the limit. Physical fitness was a huge part of my life, and hot power yoga fit the bill. What I began to experience on my mat was transformative. The constant chatter in my mind quieted, and my emotional triggers subsided.
Yoga felt like home. No matter what was going on in my life, my mat was there, waiting for me to receive Yoga’s gifts. I now enjoy many forms of yoga, prayer and meditation as part of my self care and development. Ultimately, I seek peace in mind, body and spirit.
As part of my curiosity and deep yearning to heal myself from a nagging unhappiness I felt in my late twenties, I embarked on an 18-month life coaching program that allowed me to uncover what was keeping me stuck in old patters and create a new way of being. Weaving this knowledge into my classes and coaching others brings me so much joy.
There are teachers that unknowingly changed me and took me to a place I couldn’t have gone on my own. They challenged me to surrender when I wanted to fight and push, when I didn’t think I could hold one more breath. These teachers inspired me to become a teacher, so that I can give back what has been given to me.
Outside of yoga, I love being with my family and friends. I am married to one of my favorite people, and I am mother to my son, Jake, and daughter, Emily. I recently stepped away from 20+ years of working in corporate America and am exploring a new path. I love being outdoors, hiking, walking on the beach or hanging in the hammock. I am constantly learning knew things and am passionate about helping others live their best life. I am grateful for the opportunity to lead you in your Yoga Practice.
