You’ll combine free weights with our Power Yoga sequence to intensify each pose. You will sweat, tone, and burn in all the right places and utilize a variety of strengthening routines.

YOGA BOOTCAMP  

Yoga Bootcamp is fat-blasting cardio and a tough total-body workout! This class integrates cardio, weight training, and abdominal work with yoga and promises to burn up to double the calories compared to doing yoga alone. Unlike traditional boot camp classes, the yoga element provides flexibility work.

LONG, SLOW, DEEP

A combination of our Slow Flow and Deep Stretch classes. We begin with a heat-generating flow with long holds to build heat and suppleness in the body. Then we move to the floor, holding postures for 2-3 minutes to get deeper into the muscular fibers of the body, which helps release built-up tension and stress in the shoulders, hips, and hamstrings. You will leave feeling refreshed and renewed! This class is excellent for athletes or those wanting a slower paced heated class.

Warm Long, Slow, Deep is 80 Degrees


DEEP STRETCH

This yin-inspired class targets the primary muscle groups surrounding the hips, hamstrings, and upper back. Poses are done on the floor and held for 2-3 minutes to focus on breath and give the body time to fully relax and open.

DEVOTIONAL YOGA

When was the last time that you created space and time to simply be still? We cannot and will not be able to hear God’s voice if noise is cluttering the frequencies. Devotional Yoga is a unique combination of restorative/Yin yoga with a powerful non-denominational inspirational message.

PRENATAL YOGA

Our prenatal yoga classes will empower you and give you a sense of inner strength, which is invaluable during pregnancy and after baby arrives. Each of our classes are about nurturing yourself in a positive, uplifting environment.

 

Our prenatal sequence is designed to relieve common pregnancy discomforts (such as lower back pain, leg cramps, sciatica, swelling, muscle tightness, sleeplessness, fatigue, stress and anxiety), as well as prepare your body and mind for childbirth. We focus on breath awareness, which can improve effective use of breath and relaxation during labor.

No previous experience of yoga is necessary.

GENTLE YOGA

Gentle Yoga allows time to modify each posture to best suit your body. Yoga props, such as blankets, blocks, bolsters, and straps, are often used to allow the body to fully achieve each posture comfortably. This accessible class is an ideal choice for anyone looking to develop a practice, reduce stress, recover from an injury or surgery, but still wants to build strength and increase flexibility.

Slow Flow allows you time to connect deeply to your breath and stay in postures long enough to become aware of individual alignment. This class is designed with particular emphasis on variations and modifications.

MEDITATION

Working "in" is the new working out! While a physical practice offers more visible effects, the more subtle benefits of sitting quietly for even just a few minutes a day may have a greater impact on your daily life. Meditation has been reputed to do everything from improve sleep, focus, and the immune system to ease anxiety, stress, depression, and pain.

KIDS YOGA (AGES 4-7)

Let's get bendy, go upside down and challenge our bodies in this exciting, playful,energy releasing yoga class! Class includes age appropriate yoga poses, stories, songs, games,music and breathing techniques.

KIDS ART PLAY (AGES 4-9)

Creative play that involves fun art projects while you practice yoga! Kids Art Play is free for Charlotte Family Yoga members (auto-draft payments) and $5 per child for non-members. Kids Art Play is offered for parents that are practicing yoga at the same time.
