Heather Hopkins

A consistent yoga practice began for Heather when a student who needed lots of extra support, academically and emotionally, was transferred to her 5th grade class. With the increased workload, Heather wanted a way to practice self care and found yoga. Heather has now been practicing yoga for over 6 years.

Heather has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from East Carolina University. She completed her 95 hour Grounded Kids yoga teacher training in 2020.

Heather likes to spend her time traveling, hiking, biking, doing yoga, and reading. Football is a family passion, and you’ll find her cheering on the ASU Mountaineers on Saturdays and the Carolina Panthers on Sundays. Heather previously worked as an AIG Facilitator and as a 4th and 5th grade teacher. She now stays home with her son.

Heather lives in Charlotte with her husband, Jeremy, and their son, Owen. They have two dogs of their own and foster for the Greater Charlotte SPCA.
