Celebrating 7 Years

When I opened Charlotte Family Yoga Center in October 2010, I felt like I had something epic to offer to our community. I wanted to create a Yoga Studio that thrived off personal connection, relationships and felt like home. A yoga studio that was diverse in size, age and ethnicity, that offered a variety of classes for all stages of practice. A melting pot of many people that blend together as one.

When this journey began almost seven years ago, I had a three year- old that I fell deeply in love with and wanted to spend as much time as possible with her. A flight attendant traveling 4-5 days a week this lifestyle suited me for 15 years before my daughter came along. I loved traveling, meeting new people and seeing new places.

While balancing my flying career, being a yoga teacher, yoga student,a mother and a wife, I couldn’t push my yoga practice , teaching and my longing to be with my family out of my brain during the day. As fate would have it, along with a supportive husband, I had the opportunity to become a Yoga studio owner and decided to take a leap of faith. I left my flying career and a wonderful company to focus on building a YOGA Community.

In the depths of the panic attack that surrounded this decision, I truly wish I could tell you that I was the coolest of warrior queens. The reality is starting a yoga studio is stressful,it requires hard work, commitment, true love of the practice, discipline, and responsibility.

It truly is the hardest most rewarding thing I have ever done.

While I cannot speak for all my fellow yoga studio owners, I can say from my perspective

that we do it because of YOU the students. We do it because you need the face behind the desk

to really look deeply into your eyes and say, “I’m so happy to see you. How are you feeling?” We are truly this happy to see you. You matter, your presence matters.

For to the whole world, you are just one person, but to me and my staff you most definitely are the Whole World.

Our foundation is built on our vision to build an inclusive yoga community that thrives on personal connection and our mission to inspire hope and empower students towards personal growth..

Thank you for supporting this community, our vision and our mission for the last 7 Years.
