As long as Tony could remember, he has always been fascinated by the human body/anatomy and physiology, as he soon realized that this was an awesome vehicle in regards to how the Mind, Body and Spirit worked independently and cohesively as one unit.
Tony came from a background of sports and athletics. He played high school and college basketball. After graduating from college he started cycling and participated in long distance riding to help stay healthy and in great shape. His life change came after he decided to further his education, and he no longer wanted to work another 9 to 5 job sitting at a desk, shuffling paper all day. Miraculously massage therapy found him, and thus began his journey. In 1992, he applied to the Potomac Massage Training Institute (pmti) in Washington, DC and it change his life for ever. This training allowed him to combine his interest in anatomy and Physiology with a strong desire to provide health and wellness, not only to him-self, but to others as well. He started practicing yoga to bring balance to his life to manage the stress that can with the busy life of working a full time stressful job, while attending school. In 2005, Tony left the corporate world and focused on massage therapy, yoga, nutrition and juicing.
In 2009, Tony received his certificate to teach Vinyasa yoga from the Asheville Yoga Center. This was a catalyst for his new career and path and he shortly became an expert in teaching Vinyasa, Yin, Traditional Hot, Baptiste Power yoga and and long slow deep yoga.
In 2014, Tony received his certification in Thai Yoga Bodywork under Michael Sitzer of Asheville, NC.
In 2017, Tony received his certification in Thai massage from the oldest Thai massage school in the world, Wat PO Temple Thai massage school in Bangkok, Thailand. This form of Bodywork combines yoga and massage along with breathing and mindfulness.
Today, Tony teaches Yoga at Yoga On Davidson (YOD), Gottayoga in Cornelius and Ishine Yoga and Wellness in Huntersville and offers Thai Yoga Bodywork at his home studio in the university area of Charlotte, NC. The training and techniques combined with his experiences are just what he needs to offer therapies that can help his clients manage their stress and become the happy healthy person they strive to be.
