Oakhurst Class Offerings

Beginner's Yoga

The yoga class for our community members that are new to yoga or want to get back to the basics for a stronger, more grounded practice!

 

Learn the foundations of a personal yoga practice, the poses (asana), and moving with the breath!

Deep Stretch

Our Deep Stretch class targets the muscles such as hamstrings, hips and shoulders that are sometimes tight from repetitive movement and overwork. Long, passive holds of 2-3 minutes, bring you inward and help open the body. A Deep Stretch Class can reduce aches and pains, prevent and heal injuries, enhance athletic performance, increase flexibility and relieve tension.

Yin Yoga

Our Yin Yoga class consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body - the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, and lower spine. In this slower paced, spiritual-based practice, the poses are held from 4 to 6 minutes.

Long, Slow, Deep

We start with a slower paced flow that allows you time to connect deeply to your breath and stay in postures long enough to become aware of individual alignment. We move into longer holds that target the primary muscle groups surrounding the hips, hamstrings and upper back.

Yoga Flow

This class is perfect for beginners, seniors and those looking for a slower paced or more relaxed practice.  Students practice foundational yoga postures and work on the principles of body alignment and breath awareness. Teacher provides a great deal of modifications and uses props generously to ensure that poses are accessible for all students

Hot Power Yoga

Power Yoga is an intentional flow class that focuses on breath per movement, intention, strength, balance, and flexibility.  This class will include an intentional time of grounding, warm-up, flow, standing balance, and cool down - all set to the rhythm of your breath and upbeat music!
